Ocean Jewel is a wonderfully comfortable 22.86 meter (75ft) cruising yacht, designed to sail the world's oceans and set up to do just that. Ocean Jewel was purchased in April of 2007 and underwent a complete refit which was completed in August of 2008. She has been kept and is now in near new condition. Refit Details:
After undergoing numerous in water upgrades Ocean Jewel was hauled out of the water in December 2007. Between Dec 2007 and Aug 2008 all major systems on Ocean Jewel were changed and upgraded; all electrical wiring was removed and replaced; all plumbing was removed and replaced, the galley was gutted and upgraded with new cabinets, 4 burner cooker & oven, refrigeration (refrigerator and freezers), microwave, dishwasher, Miele cloths washer and dryer; the engine room was gutted and upgraded with a new John Deere 6068 engine, Northern Lights 10Kw generator, Water Witch 100 liter/hr water maker and a 48VDC Side Power Bow Thruster. An all new Furuno instrument package was installed including Radar, Chart Plotters, Depth and wind instruments, AIS and GPS. For Communications an ICOM SSB, two ICOM VHFs and an ICOM sat phone were installed. For entertainment a Samsung flat screen TV was installed in the saloon and a new Fusion stereo system provides music throughout Jewel's cabins.
Ocean Jewel's rigging has also been upgraded.. The masts and booms were inspected before purchase by two separate rigging professionals and found to be in excellent condition. Chain plates were removed, tested and inspected. Shrouds were replaced, new sails from Doyle were added and all winches were replaced with new Andersen winches (three winches are motorised). Since completing the refit Ocean Jewel is hauled out of the water every year for annual maintenance, hull and rigging inspections.
A considerable sum of money has been spent getting her into the condition she's in now. Ocean Jewel is a magnificent blue water vessel that's been kept in good condition since her refit, sails very well and turns heads where ever she goes.

A hundred pictures of Ocean Jewel could be posted here and still, it would be hard to accurately present this magnificent sailing yacht. Ocean Jewel, at 22.86 meters (75 ft) in length, 5.6 meter (18.3 ft) beam, 2.7 meter (8.8 ft) draft and weighing approximately 50 tons, is an amazingly comfortable, strong, safe and easily managed cruising yacht. With 2600 liters of diesel fuel and 2600 liters of drinking water she cuts through the sea at an easy 10 knots under sail in approximately 20 knots of wind or at 1400 rpm under engine power. Despite her size she is easy to sail and maneuver - even in close quarters. During the refit we added a bow thruster that makes turning and maneuvering in tight marinas a breeze. She is fitted out and ready to sail the world's oceans.
